BEAUTIFUL AFRICAN WOMAN

BEAUTIFUL AFRICAN WOMAN

Wears beads, bangles and bracelets
Wears them for extreme beauty
Wearing them with pride for beauty
Wearing smile bigger, brighter than sun.

She wears scars telling her of bitter past
Bitter past to make her an African woman
Scars and bruises brought by thick ropes
Ropes twisting, blowing badly her body.

Her scars narrate stories of slavery, wars
Like tragic movies lacking fiery arms
But fighting by poisonous arrows
Defending her dominion and hybrids.

She feels proud of holes and gaps
In her mouth to complete her beauty
Beads define her identity and entity
Fighting for heritage, negritude splendid.

She loves her kinsmen from inner heart
Praising herbs effective than tablet
Walking majestically, calm like gazelle
Her beautiful bare feet touching grass
Her smile exposes white teeth, beauties!
